What's persisted where
| Setting type | Stored in | Synced across vaults? |
|---|---|---|
| Theme, language, font, license email | Global settings JSON (per device) | Yes — applies everywhere |
| Storage backend, encryption, auto-lock, Enter mode, sidebar view | Vault settings JSON (in the vault folder) | No — per-vault |
| Plugin settings | Vault settings JSON under plugins.<id> | No — per-vault |
Tip: If you sync your vault with iCloud Drive or Dropbox, vault-level settings travel with the vault. Device-level prefs (theme, font) do not.
