Settings — Shortcuts

A read-only reference for every keyboard shortcut, split into App Shortcuts (work anywhere in Binderus) and Editor Shortcuts (only fire while typing in a note).

The shortcuts tab opens with a search box. Type any partial word — action name, key name, or context — and the list filters live. Useful when you remember "there's a shortcut to do that thing" but not which one.

App Shortcuts

Cover navigation, vault operations, and workspace controls — for example opening the Quick Switcher, switching tabs, opening Settings, toggling the sidebar. These fire even when no note is focused.

For the canonical list grouped by topic, see Keyboard Shortcuts.

Editor Shortcuts

Only fire when the editor has focus. Cover Markdown formatting (Cmd B for bold, Cmd I for italic, etc.), heading levels, list manipulation, and code-block toggling.

Customizing shortcuts

The Shortcuts tab is a read-only viewer. If you need a different binding, the OS-level approach (System Settings → Keyboard → App Shortcuts on macOS, or AutoHotkey on Windows) works as a workaround.

Tip: the universal Cmd P command palette lists every action by name and runs it directly — useful when your fingers are faster at typing than at remembering shortcuts.
